Event Description
As part of the innovative VReduMED project, nursing schools are given the opportunity to borrow virtual reality (VR) headsets for six weeks to explore new forms of digital learning and integrate them into their teaching. The goal is to enhance the learning experience by making it more practical, vivid, and interactive.
To support implementation, the VReduMED team from OTH visited the Döpferschulen in Schwandorf. Since the educators had already completed the "Train the Trainer" course, the focus of this visit was on introducing the new applications. The main goal was to ensure a safe and confident use of the updated apps, clarify any open questions, and provide all necessary information for a smooth implementation.
Following a brief project overview, participants received a structured walkthrough of the new VR applications. With support from the VReduMED team, they had the chance to explore the apps hands-on, ask technical and educational questions, and exchange ideas. The practical session helped build confidence in using the technology and prepared the staff to integrate the apps effectively into their nursing education.
Participants
The session was attended by two enthusiastic teachers and two members of the school’s leadership team from the Nursing School at Döpfer Schulen Schwandorf. All participants showed great openness and interest in the potential of VR technology and expressed strong motivation to implement it in their teaching practice. The teachers also planned to conduct a follow-up session the next day to introduce the applications to the other educators involved in the project. The VReduMED team from OTH led the session with technical expertise, educational insight, and a supportive atmosphere that encouraged questions and active participation.
